I've been on a few Norwiegian cruises

I see they are always offering what seems to be great package deals with airfare. Have you ever gone for a travel package with them or just the straight cruise?

Actually I tend to only depart from NYC.
So I have never needed airfare.
But I figure, sooner or later, Im going to run out of boats!

I have been on the Epic, Dawn, and my first trip was on the Majesty and in August I will be going on the Breakaway. NCL is my favorite cruise line and Bermuda is my favorite destination.

Reviving a 1-1/2 year old thread. I cruised the Gem back in May 2014 with my family, and then the Sun over Thanksgiving 2014 week. Had a great time on both ships. Left from NYC on the Gem, from Tampa on the Sun. Boarding was soooooooo much easier in Tampa. My daughter works as a dancer for NCL, we cruise whatever ship she's on.

We docked next to the Epic while in Cozumel (while on the Sun). Darn, that's a big ship! Sun looked like a private yacht next to it.

My wife and I are going on a ten day cruise on the norwegian pearl april 06 and it includes a beverage package? we wondering if an extra tip should be given to our waiter or bartender even though an automatic tipping system is in place?

go for it

As a rule no.

But, if I find a favorite spot, I will sometimes friend up the bartender and toss him a twenty up front. This gets me boozier drinks for the rest of the cruise.

But you have to make sure you've made the connection first.

If you toss the bartender a 20 and they dont remember you the next day, its wasted.

Are they recognizing you and calling you Mr. Ben or whatever, then go for it!

Otherwise, if Ive been getting decent service during the cruise I toss an extra tip to the good guys.
